A top of the range stainless steel cookware set can make a world of difference in a home. It can transform any kitchen into the heart of a four-star restaurant, with you as head chef.

Even more than that, a high-quality cookware set can add beauty and character to your kitchen. It will stand as a testament to your commitment to good cooking. You may find that it even inspires you to put more care into the food you eat.

Most importantly, though, excellent cookware is an investment you can count on to stand the test of time. If properly cared for, the Cuisinart Mcp-12 Multiclad Pro cookware set could easily become a hand-me-down.

Vital Features Found In The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless Steel Cookware Set

“Clad” cookware is often regarded as being of the highest quality because it combines the best properties of different types of metals to create the best possible cooking utensil.

Cuisinart multiclad Pro cookware is made by cladding an aluminum core with 18/10 stainless steel. This is done because aluminum conducts heat very well, which means this cookware will cook more evenly, and heat will be dispersed throughout the entire utensil.

Stainless steel, however, does not conduct heat well, but is much more durable than aluminum. It is also “non-reactive,” which means it does not impart any metal residue into the food. So, that’s why this metal is used for the outer coating of the cookware.

Some pots and pans have aluminum or copper bottoms, or are only lined with stainless steel on the cooking surface. The Cuisinart multiclad Pro stainless set is described as being “tri-ply” cookware, because the entire aluminum core is sealed in stainless steel, inside and out.

People considering stainless steel cookware for the first time may be concerned with food sticking to the cookware, or issues with cleaning. It’s true that stainless steel is not necessarily “stainless” in that it does require some care to keep clean. Some things to keep in mind about stainless steel:

  • It will take on scratches over time, which is normal
  • It will stain and get dirty, and should be cleaned with care using non-abrasive cleaners
  • Citrus juice can help with stains
  • Cuisinart states that this cookware is dishwasher safe, but it will last much longer if it is washed by hand

In return for this extra care you get a durable, non-reactive metal that will enhance your cooking. Further, it will never chip or flake, as some non-stick materials do, and is not harmful to your health.

Cookware should also be ergonomically designed and easy to use. This cookware set is very light considering its construction, yet remains a little bottom heavy so it will rest firmly and evenly on burners. The handles also do not conduct too much heat, and so are easier to handle when hot. No burned fingers.

What’s Included in the Cuisinart MCP Set?

This set will provide you with every tool you need to perform basic cooking tasks. Matched with experience, this cookware will also deliver amazing results with even the most complex dishes.

Included pieces:

1½ and 3 quart saucepans, with covers

You will find these saucepans to be among the most versatile pieces of the set. They can be used for simple tasks like heating up soup, but also come with covers for simmering or slow cooking.

8” and 10” open skillets

These skillets are designed with sloped sides and perfectly balanced handles to allow you to expertly toss foods, as well as easily turn food when sautéing and browning.

3½ quart covered sauté pan

This deep sauté pan will allow you to sauté and fry foods then cover it so the food can cook slowly and fully. It is also good for making complex dishes like jambalayas that need to be covered to allow the rice and seafood to steam.

8 quart covered stockpot

This beautifully designed stockpot is the perfect tool for achieving reductions for stews and soups. It has a wide base to accommodate larger pieces of food, but it is not too big. It is easily handled and sets well on the stove-top or in the oven.

Universal steamer insert

This steamer insert makes steaming vegetables a breeze, and is big enough to handle family-sized portions. The handle and lid make it safe and easy to use.

Warranty Information

Cuisinart guarantees their Cuisinart Pro cookware with a limited lifetime warranty against defects. With the proper care, there is no doubt this cookware set will be passed on to the next generation of aspiring chefs in your family.

What Are Real Users Saying About The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro 12 Piece Set?

The reviews for this cookware set are overwhelmingly positive. Some reviewers like to qualify their remarks by saying that this set is “good for the price,” which implies that a more expensive set may be better without providing any support for the opinion.

Some specific praise includes:

  • “Flat bottoms provide even heat distribution”
  • “Handles stay cooler, longer”
  • “Clean up easily using Barkeeper’s Friend or citrus juice”
  • “Look very stylish”
  • “Are dishwasher safe (if necessary, but not recommended)”

It’s entirely possible a more expensive set will be of higher quality, but when quality is considered in light of cost, the Cuisinart Mcp12 stands apart. It’s considered by some to be among the best stainless steel cookware sets you can get.

What About The Complaints!

There are very few complaints, but those that I found appear to be made by people who have had little experience with cooking with stainless steel, or have had to deal with Cuisinart customer service [which is rare]. For the sake of providing a complete review, I will include these issues here:

  • Poor customer service by Cuisinart
  • Warranty does not cover shipping to and from the customer
  • Warranty may not cover the lids
  • Stainless steel stains and becomes discolored easily

Warranty and customer service issues aside, it is possible that people with discoloration problems are using their cookware incorrectly, or have attempted to clean it incorrectly. As with any product, be sure to read the instructions first.
